Measurement Methods and Steps of Leakage Protection Tester - Yangzhou Darui

Darui Electric recommends for you

Leakage Protection Tester is mainly used to test the leakage action current, leakage non-action current, and leakage action time of leakage protectors. The test current is 0-500mA divided into ten gears, and the time test range is 0-799ms. It features a 16-character blue screen LCD display. This tester is handheld, small in size, light in weight, and easy to carry. It is a test instrument for on-site or indoor detection of various leakage protectors.

Disconnect the load wires of the leakage protector under test to prevent damage to the load-side electrical appliances.

1. Turn on the "ON/OFF" button to power on the instrument. The 15mA indicator light on the upper left will be lit, and the LCD display above will show MANUAL 000ms (Note: MANUAL = manual).

2. Check the rated value on the nameplate of the leakage switch under test (generally, for indoor single-phase two-wire leakage protectors, the rated action current = 30mA, rated non-action current = 15mA, and the breaking time is ≤0.1s (i.e., ≤100ms).

3. Press the "Shift" button. The 10 indicator lights in the upper two rows will cycle through. Adjust to the 30mA gear as mentioned above, and the corresponding indicator light will flash.

4. Insert the red plug of the test lead into the "L test line" socket, and the black plug into the black socket of the "N test line". The other end of the black plug wire has a black alligator clip, which should be clipped onto the ground terminal of the leakage protector under test. 5. Touch the probe at the other end of the red test lead wire to the corresponding live wire (220V) of the lower terminal of the leakage protector. At this time, a normal leakage protector will trip and break the circuit. The LCD display above will show "MANUAL xxxms" (Note: MANUAL = manual, xxx is the breaking time value of the leakage protector under test). If it does not trip, the LCD will display "MANUAL fault" (fault = failure).

6. Check whether the measured data conforms to the values specified on the nameplate.

7. Press the green "Reset" button to zero the instrument data and return to the initial power-on state, ready for the next test. For continuous testing, repeat steps 1-7 above.
